Deep Bhattacharya played the role of Swami Vivekananda whom director Tutu Sinha first saw in a Bengali drama. Premankur Chattopadhyay and Gargi Roy Chowdhury played the characters of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Sarada Devi respectively. The film shows the transition from young Narendra Nath Datta to world preacher Swami Vivekananda. Different events from his life starting from childhood days to meeting with the mystic saint at, Vivekananda's travel to Northern India, travel to the West (America, Europe), meeting with, and his works in India have been captured, thereby building his journey from being Narendranath to Vivekananda in bits and pieces.

In an interview Sinha told– 'I have directed serials like Trishna and Rajmahal. I have also directed the serial Sadhok Bamakhyapa up to its 1000th episode. I always wanted to make a film on Swamiji.' Making The film was shot in different places of like and in like, etc. Director Tutu Sinha had to travel all over India for the research work of this film.
The events of Vivekananda's life in Rajasthan was recreated in. The scenes of Vivekananda's lectures at Parliament of World's Religions, Chicago in September 1893 was shot at. Sarada Ma was one the most emancipated women of her times. The cinematography by Tutu is awesome and I feel the film will attract viewers not just from Bengal but beyond as well. Director Sinha watched a drama of a Bengali theatre group named Sambed where he found Bhattacharya. Gargi Roy Chowdhury played the role of of young age. There was not any image of Swarada Devi available during her youth. The production team used computer applications to back-compose and find out how Sarada Devi might look during her youth.
After the study they found Bengali film and television actress Gargi Roy Chowdhury suitable for the character. Roy Chowdhury told about acting as Sarada Devi– 'I am mighty happy to portray one of the most liberated women of all times'. Premankur Chattopadhyay, who is also a theatre actor played the role of. Chattopadhyay told he would be indebted to the director forever for giving him opportunity to play the character in this film. Many state governments have declared this movie as tax free in their states like Maharashtra, Gujarat and West Bengal. Reception The film garnered mixed reviews from critics. Rated the film 3 and a half out of 5 stars and stated the film 'goes to show again that some films are still made in Tollywood, which do not get any hype, yet are good works of art in their own right.' In this review the acting of Deep Bhattacharya was highly appreciated.

New Delhi: University Grants Commission (UGC) in a circular asked all the vice chancellors of universities and heads of higher educational institutions to provide opportunity and facility to the teachers and students to view Prime Minister's address on September 11 on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's centenary celebration and 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's address at the Chicago World Parliament of Religions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be addressing a student leaders convention on the theme of 'Young lndia, New lndia - A Resurgent Nation: from Sankalp to Sidhhi'. 'On September 11, at 10.30 am, Prime Minister will address the Nation to remind one and all about the relevance and significance of Swami Vivekananda's teachings in the backdrop of today's social milieu,' said the UGC circular. It also said the address would be of particular importance for the youth of today to understand and absorb the content of Swami Vivekananda's messages to the World, in order to ensure their right educational, career and spiritual growth.
'ln the light of the above,' the circular requested that all vice chancellors of universities, heads of higher educational institutions to provide an opportunity and facility to the teachers and students to view Prime Minister's address by identifying for the programme a common place, audio-visual room or auditorium in the campus and installing of proper TV/ projection facility for wide viewing. 'The students and teachers may be encouraged to participate in the event,' said the circular. The circular also asked that the programme and venue may be prominently displayed on the campus notice board. The link for the webcast of the programme is (link also available on MHRD Website http:/1mhrd.oov.in) and the common email id to which any queries may be addressed is [email protected], said the circular. 'lt is requested that the above event is propagated effectively and interested students obtain the facility to view such a significant programme that could be life changing,' said the circular. West Bengal opposes Responding to the circular, West Bengal government said it will not direct state-run universities to follow the UGC circular on viewing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address on September 11.
West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said the move is a clear attempt to saffornise education, reported Indo-Asian News Service. 'This is a clear attempt to saffronise education.
They are taking decisions on their own without consulting us,' Mr Chatterjee said. 'We did not get any directive so we will not give any instructions to universities and the idea that state-run varsities will follow through the Centre's directive without consulting us, is wrong,' Mr Chatterjee said.
